VIETNAM

Volunteer in Vietnam, a country with an intriguing history and varying influences from the Chinese regal dynasties to the French colonial period. Vietnam will inspire you with its immense cultural & geographical diversity, from shimmering paddy fields and lavishly carved pagodas to unspoiled beaches and lively cities.

Intern & Volunteer in Vietnam

Vietnam has breathtaking landscapes, architecture and archaeology hidden in the everyday. Home to multiple World Heritage sites, Vietnam is increasingly becoming a popular destination for tourists, volunteers and international students.

However, like many societies in Southeast Asia, life can be difficult for disadvantaged communities and Vietnam is no exception. Children and adults with disabilities and special needs are often hidden and lack support which affects their quality of life. In low income communities, teachers do not receive what they need to develop essential educational and physical activities. Becoming a volunteer in Vietnam is a great way for experienced individuals or those with a general interest in working with people to work alongside local educators and staff to support and provide awareness to those who need it most.

If you’re thinking of volunteering in Vietnam, we have a number of community-based projects that make a real impact, whilst helping volunteers become fully immersed in Vietnamese culture. You can work alongside adults and children, provide essential assistance in medical healthcare or occupational therapy. If you’re looking for an internship in Vietnam, we offer business management internships for NGOs that will provide support on local community projects.

When you’re not volunteering in Vietnam you can spend your spare time in Cuc Phuong National Park, one of Vietnam’s most important protected areas. It boasts magnificent limestone mountains, traditional stilt houses of the Muong hill-tribe and is home to some of Asia’s rarest species. If you have a particular interest in history, take a trip to the war remnants museum in Ho Chi Minh City. Be sure to try traditional and delicious Vietnamese cuisine, like beef pho noodle soup, too! When you volunteer in Vietnam, why not extend your trip and travel further afield by climbing Vietnam’s highest mountain, Mount Fansipan? Or take on the ultimate cycling adventure from Saigon to Angkor, Cambodia, riding along less traveled roads and encountering areas untouched by tourism. Visit Halong Bay in northeast Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with floating fishing villages.

Your internship or volunteer work in Vietnam will contribute to local organisations making an impact on the lives of disadvantaged people in Vietnamese society.
