CLINICAL

Join Kaya on a clinical medical internship and gain valuable work experience by shadowing and working under the supervision of local staff in hospitals and clinics abroad. This educational experience provides great insight for those looking to work in clinical settings.

Clinical Medical Internships

Clinical internships are available for medical students and those studying on a pre-med track, with a great range of opportunities to choose from. You’ll have the chance to shadow and work alongside local healthcare providers in hospitals and clinics, performing tasks such as managing patient records, counting medication, and maintaining treatment areas. Depending on your level of training and qualifications, you may also be able to assist with basic medical checks and procedures under the supervision of a local professional or contribute to capacity building in educational workshops.

As global health becomes an increasingly local issue, working as a clinical health intern abroad offers valuable experience in a diverse healthcare setting. You will work with patients and staff from various cultural, linguistic, and medical backgrounds. This exposure will enhance your understanding of healthcare communication, patient care, and treatment methods in different regions, which you can apply to your own practice, and educate others about. Furthermore, you’ll have the opportunity to observe how healthcare teams manage high patient volumes in resource-limited settings, while you make a positive impact by offering an extra set of hands.

Kaya offers clinical internships in countries such as Vietnam, Morocco, Ghana, Thailand, Ecuador, and Belize, with options for students from pre-med to those in their final year of studies. To become a clinical healthcare intern with Kaya, you’ll need to submit your CV, an outline of your training and medical credentials, and participate in a telephone interview. Qualifications such as good communication skills, a willingness to help, and the ability to listen are also necessary.

Clinical placements include Nursing, Family Health, Maternity, OBGYN, Emergency medicine, Mental health, Psychology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, and more.

Join Kaya as a clinical medical intern and broaden your perspective on illness and treatment, while growing your skills as a global healthcare professional.
