I find the GlobeSmart tool to be a great site that gave me lots of information and kept me interested about Moroccan life. The local staff, the in country directors and project supervisors were great, they kept the communication line open and I have received all the support I needed for the internship. My language class was also excellent and very helpful. Through the online internship, I have achieved confidence in speaking a foreign language.

I really love the workshops! They are a lot of fun and educational. I like hearing from my chat buddies, it is always interesting to know what they are thinking/what they want to share. I like how I do have a good bit of freedom to schedule when I will do my tasks and don’t have someone who is checking on me every ten minutes.
Look for something that you are really interested in and passionate about so the work doesn’t feel too much like work and is more fun than burdensome.

It is important to think about what goals you have for your remote experience and how they can coincide with the characteristics of a remote internship. Even within the first few weeks, I have gained valuable skills such as experience with project-based work (as opposed to strict deadlines), utilizing different methods of communication in new ways, and building a workplace culture even in an online setting. Regardless of the goals and desired outcomes you may have for your internship, I think that these new skills and connections could align with a wide variety of desired experiences on your end.
